 Ek·a·sil·i·con n.  Chem. The name of a hypothetical element predicted by Mendeleev and afterwards discovered and named germanium; -- so called because it was a missing analogue of the silicon group. See Germanium, and cf. Ekabor.  Also see periodic table.
