 di·car·bon·ic a.  Chem. Containing two carbon residues, or two carboxyl groups or radicals; as, oxalic acid is the simplest dicarbonic acid.  In the latter sense, synonymous with dicarboxylic; as, succinic acid is a dicarboxylic acid.
