Bowd·ler·ize v. t. [imp. & p. p. Bowdlerized p. pr. & vb. n. Bowdlerizing ] To expurgate, as a book, by omitting or modifying the parts considered offensive; to remove morally objectionable parts; -- said of literary texts.
